I love the idea of staying with friends when we travel, but many of the places we go are not filled with people we know. The way you feel when you are a house guest is comfortable and relaxed and in a home sort of surrounding, and no hotel can really match that kind of feeling. I am now finding that we can get a bit of that ambiance by staying in a vacation home rental when we are traveling. It is a spacious and comfortable place with a clean and friendly interior and not some cookie cutter hotel room.
